What would you say to an indoor/outdoor weekend activity featuring great people and great wine–all from an energized urban setting? Is that something you’d be interested in?
Well, this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. you can experience it all when City Circles.com and the Downtown Phoenix Partnership (hey, that’s us!) debut Urban Wine Walk 2010, a light rail-based grape extravaganza that features 11 up-and-coming wine destinations in Downtown Phoenix, Camelback Corridor and Tempe–including Kincaid’s, 1130 The Restaurant, Majerle’s, Maizie’s, Hula Modern Tiki and Ra!–and over 30 different wines.
This FREE event allows attendees to ride METRO light rail to one or more of the three major stops, exit the train armed with Urban Wine Walk maps and official score sheets , and proceed to a diverse list of participating restaurants serving up priced-right wine samples and palate-cleansing plates of bread, fruit and cheese.
As a bonus, we’ve teamed up with Arizona Theatre Company to give away 10 pairs of tickets to their upcoming show, Second City Does Arizona or Close But No Saguaro. Look for Second City posters at Kincaid’s, Phoenix Public Market, Majerle’s, 1130 The Restaurant, Steve’s Greenhouse and Icon on Saturday for your chance to win.
For questions call (602) 744-6412 or (480) 440-9489.
See you Saturday!

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011Join the throng of wine enthusiasts and urban adventurists who will be rating grapes during Saturday’s Urban Wine Walk.
You’ll make the jump from novice to wine expert as you sample 2 oz pours on a diverse list of over 50 wines. From deep red Cabernets and Pinot Noirs to sweeter Chardonnays and Rieslings, the Urban Wine Walk has something for all tastes. Pours are priced between $2-$4 and restaurant hosts will provide Wine Walkers with tasty palate-cleansing snacks along the way.
Urban Wine Walk is scheduled to run 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. but don’t be surprised if a thirsty mob arrives at Phoenix Public Market Urban Grocery & Wine Bar early to claim the free gift bags being doled out while supplies last.
