Countdown to the Crawl

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010
P – is for Pubs. We have 17 this fall, a Downtown Pub Crawl record.
U – is for Updates. Download the Crawl route, list of participating bars, drink specials and information about the after-hours breakfast at Steve’s Greenhouse here.
B – is for Beer and Booze, sure, but it’s also for Buy, as in buy your Pub Crawl tickets online and get $3 off the regular price.
C – is for Complementary. Post a message to our Facebook wall about how much you love the Downtown Pub Crawl and get your friends to comment on your post. Whoever collects the most comments by noon on Friday wins 4 FREE tickets to Saturday’s Crawl.
R – is for Ride. Ollie the Trolley will be transporting Crawlers from location to location so the ladies can eliminate “comfort” as a factor when picking out their shoes.
A – is for Angela, that charming pharmaceutical saleswoman you met on last fall’s Crawl. Things didn’t work out for you two long-term but that doesn’t make the memory any less sweet.
W – is for Waiting, which you’ll be doing less of during pre-Crawl registration. We’ll be staffing a Will Call check-in at the Ambassadors Information Center (101 N. 1st Ave., Suite 190) starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday and we’ve added two more check-in tables to get Crawlers onto their trolleys and having fun quicker.
L – is for Legendary, which is how you’ll describe the evening to friends over Bloody Marys and ibuprofen at a TBA time on Sunday.

Here are up-to-the-minute details on Saturday’s Fourth Annual Downtown Pub Crawl:

Mardi Crawl with the Ambassadors

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Mardi Crawl is your chance to hobnob with Downtown’s elite.

beadsYou might think of the Downtown Ambassadors as knowledgeable, charming, helpful, and orange–and they are certainly all of those things–but what you probably don’t know is that the Ambassadors are some of Downtown’s most frequently stalked and talked about public figures. In fact, Ambassador Guy gets caught in paparazzi crossfire more often than Mayor Phil Gordon.

0333Sounds like some peeps you’d like to party with, right?

Well, this Friday you’ll have your chance.

Starting at 9 p.m., the Ambassadors will gather outside their swanky Information Center at 101 N. First Avenue (Adams side of the US Bank building) and embark on an epic Mardi Crawl to five of Downtown Phoenix’s most beloved pubs–The Rose & Crown, Seamus McCaffrey’s, Friday’s Front Row, Bar Smith and Coach & Willie’s.

For the unbeatable price of $10 (or $15 night of the event), you can join the Ambassadors aboard Ollie the Trolleys and bump from from pub to pub, taking full advantage of the awesome drink and food specials while chatting up 60 or so potential new best friends.**

Want to join in on the fun? Simply visit this link and submit your payment via Pay Pal. You can pay cash the night of the event but it will cost you an extra $5 and, since space is extremely limited, you run the risk of being turned away. Leaving folks sitting on the curb crying is not the way any of us wants to start the evening so save us all the emotional trauma and buy your seat now, deal?

See you Friday!

**Mardi Gras regalia is strongly encouraged!

Run Don’t Walk To the Third Annual Pub Crawl

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

The Third Annual Downtown Phoenix Pub Crawl will kick off on Friday, Nov. 13 at Fourth St. and Garfield starting at 9 p.m. and continues up to closing time. Fifteen of Downtown’s finest saloons will be offering music, food specials, wine, spirits, and, of course, hoptastic beers. As someone who is new to Downtown, I can’t wait to mix it up with some friendly faces while checking out Phoenix’s most talked about hot spots.

pub crawl_White with 3rdAnd this year, Sonoma Casual Dining will be offering a special after-hours breakfast starting a 1:30 a.m–a perfect opportunity to recap the revelry with new friends and soak up the evening’s, um, experiences. A fleet of trolleys will transport teams to their respective pubs and team leaders will be on hand to answer questions and make sure the crawling continues on schedule. You can purchase discounted Pub Crawl tickets here until midnight Friday. In terms of value, you aren’t going to find a better bargain than a buck a bar, am I right?

Want a nice place to crash? The San Carlos Hotel is offering special discounted rooms to Pub Crawlers. Go to www.hotelsancarlos.com and enter in the code “DPUB.”

Can’t wait to crawl with you all this Friday!

Third Annual Downtown Phoenix Pub Crawl

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

0341Math isn’t my friend. It’s barely an acquaintance. But even I can do the math on the Phoenix Pub Crawl: 15 restaurants and bars for $12 per person. When you break it down, that comes to…80 cents per bar.

That’s crazy good. Your $12 ticket includes live entertainment, munchies and special prices on drinks, only available to Pub Crawl participants. Serious suggestion: Get $2 off your tickets now by ordering in advance and entering the code “2off”. Be sure to get your tickets in advance; the price goes to $15 the day of the event.

The Third Annual Downtown Phoenix Pub Crawl starts at 4th Street and Garfield on Friday, November 13th. It goes from 9 pm until 3:30 am, ending at an after-hours breakfast spot. Free trolley buses are on hand to move you to and from different locations.

PAPAblogAs if the Zombie Walk isn’t enough, now there’s two great events to look forward to after Halloween. For those of you who may have missed them last year, this is your chance to sample some great beers and express your inner creative urge and parade through the streets of Downtown Phoenix.

The Third Annual Downtown Phoenix Pub Crawl will kick off on Friday, Nov. 13 at Fourth St. and Garfield starting at 9 p.m. until closing time. Over 12 pubs, bars and restaurants are participating – offering several tasty brews. This year, Sonoma Casual Dining will be featuring a special after-hours breakfast starting at 1:30 a.m. to help soak up the suds.

Now in its fourth year, Phoenix Annual Parade of the Arts (PAPA) takes place on Sat., Nov. 14 starting at 5:00 p.m. ”The Worlds Only Parading Arts Fair,” as it has become known, gives all members of our community the opportunity to express themselves through costumes, art, and performance while marching together through the streets of Downtown Phoenix.
