Getting to and around Downtown Phoenix has never been easier.

Centrally located and just a few minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Downtown Phoenix is at the core of the Valley’s freeway and public transportation networks. In fact, Central Station – Phoenix’s public transportation center hub – is located in the heart of downtown. The Phoenix METRO light rail, the bus system, DASH (Downtown Area Shuttle) and DEE (Downtown Evening Express) make it easy to get where you need to be. Plus, parking is a snap with more than 25,000 spaces located throughout downtown. We’ve provided a map of Downtown Phoenix for you, as well as all the information you need to easily get to and around downtown.

Light Rail, Busses & Shuttles

Using public transportation to get to and around Downtown Phoenix is easy and affordable. Visit Valley Metro to see routes for METRO light rail, or check the route map for the free DASH.

And don't forget about the free DEE (Downtown Evening Express). Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening starting at 9 p.m., you can hop aboard the DEE to get to all of downtown's night spots, including major venues, hotels, bars and restaurants. The DEE runs until 11 p.m. on Thursdays and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Plan your evening with this handy route map.

Parking Information

Downtown Phoenix boasts more than 25,000 parking spaces, making it a very car-friendly city center. Besides public parking garages, there are numerous parking meter spots, which are in effect Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. When parking, remember to keep an eye out for signs indicating time limitations or loading/unloading zones—you don’t want your downtown souvenir to be a ticket!

Westbound Van Buren restricted between Central and 1st St. for work related to Central Park East for approximately 3 weeks. One lane of westbound traffic is maintained.

Central will be closed between Jefferson and Washington for the construction of the Cityscape Project. This street will be closed for a total of 18 months.
