There are so many great places to grab lunch downtown. Here are some of the best of the best.

  1. Via Business Lounge
    Planning a business lunch? 1130's quick service and comfortable setting makes it the ideal place. Get the wedge salad.
  2. The Downtown Deli
    This place has everything from paninis to hot dogs on the menu. And the fries! Delicious. Warning: Dieters may want to steer clear of Downtown Deli. Get the skyscraper--and the fries, of course.
  3. Z Pizza
    Perhaps my favorite lunch spot, Z Pizza uses organic ingredients to make some downright scrumptious pizza. I also love that you can sit on a stool at the window and watch the light rail go by. Get the pizza and salad combo (the salads are super fresh).
  4. El Portal Mexican Grill
    This El Portal location is the faster, younger sibling of the full-service restaurant on Grant Street. Although it's fast casual, the food is just as good as the original and will quench any Mexican food craving. Get the carne asada tacos.

Yes Colleen I have to agree! The Downtown Deli gets my vote for the best Pastrami and The “Skyscraper” is an unbelievable sandwich, which is a combo of Pastrami and Corned Beef. It’s a tummy pleaser and a diet killer!

Thanks Colleen. I’ve been meaning to try Thai Elephant and Downtown Deli (heard this was rated as one of the best sandwich spots by Yelpers). Z Pizza is one of my favs – I am a sucker for pizza.
